What are your qualifications?

Formal Education: A.A.S degree in Visual Communications Professional Experience: 15 years of professional content and copywriting experience (in-house, agency, freelance). 15 Years of professional Graphic Design experience (this means I can easily collaborate and communicate with your design team–as well as have a good grasp of effective graphic design and how to develop copy that compliments visual communication. Non-Copywriting Writing Achievements: Entered a 2023 short-story competition and won. The same story is now PUBLISHED in Reedsy’s “Prompted Magazine Issue 3”
What is your work process?

We schedule a free discovery call to see if we’re a good fit (and possibly chat about your upcoming projects)… We’ll get on a kick-off call where we thoroughly discuss our first project. I’ll create and send you a proposal with an overview of the project, timelines, and pricing options. You review the proposal to ensure you’re happy with everything. Upon your approval of the proposal, I’ll send over an agreement for you to review and sign. Once it’s signed, our work can get started! (Please note: I work and submit copy docs entirely via Google suite.) I’ll create a Google Drive Folder with all of our project docs, proposals, contracts, etc. Working with you, we’ll create a solid deliverable timeline (draft 1, client review, make revisions, draft 2, etc.) I submit drafts to you via Google Docs. You leave your feedback in the doc (please be LIBERAL and don’t hold back–your expertise and honesty are integral to success.) We collaborate until you’re THRILLED with the work! Ma-a-aybe you leave a nice review on my LinkedIn if you’re happy with the work! We move on to the next project!
Do you require a deposit?

Yes, all projects require a 50%, non-refundable deposit before any work begins.
Will Kopy By Kenz include client work in your portfolio?

Sharing the assets I create for you is voluntary. In our agreement, I leave a checkbox and a signature box where I request your approval to share assets I work on in my portfolio. I will also usually ask you directly at the end of projects.
Do you offer any other services?

I am a copywriter and content writer; however, I have 15 years of professional graphic design experience. This means I can easily collaborate and communicate with your design team–as well as how to develop copy that most effectively complements visual communication. I’ve also worked for several years in UX copywriting, so I understand how to use copywriting to enhance the user experience and customer journey.
What is your industry specialization?

I’ve worked with high-level SaaS brands for nearly 10 years. However, what I love most about writing is the variety, so I’ve also worked with brands spanning everything from construction and non-profit to BDSM and parking law. After all, the fundamentals of effective copywriting apply to any industry.
Do you use AI in your copywriting?

The short answer: Not frequently. Only during initial brainstorming, but I find using it to double-checking or correcting AI-generated content's accuracy inhibits my efficiency (which is my goal for incorporating AI at all lol). HOWEVER… It is a tool. It’s not going away, and I am teaching myself to harness it in an effective and (more importantly) ETHICAL way. Hopefully, one that makes workflows easier for you and me.
What is your stance on AI technology in the creative industry?

Generative AI is a tool and one that’s been around for a while. I think it can do a lot of good for society and craftsmen as a whole. However, that’s only when it’s used ethically and strategically. It will never replace human creativity, connection, and the “magic” if you will. Anyone who tries to use it to do so (because they think it’ll save them a few bucks) is only inhibiting the growth of their business. As a professional marketer and copywriter, I can see several ways it can improve my workflow. As a visual artist, I think it’s nefarious and is never used ethically because it’s based entirely on pulling from art that real people have poured years of their blood, sweat, and tears into– and built communities around (hence their relevance in the algorithms the AI is “learning” from). It can’t create from nothing. Even real human artists rarely create something from nothing (hence the old phrase: “Great artists steal”). The difference is: human artists take inspiration and transform it. Help it evolve. In summary: I think AI is a valuable tool, an incredible opportunity, and very exciting. Nnot as cool as flying cars, but I guess we STILL are waiting on those for a while. However, it should never be used to replace the creative professional–or the creativity in YOU! We CREATED AI thanks to that same “human magic” that helped us harness fire, and design flushable toilets, for crying out loud! I embrace AI when used ethically and as a resource, not as a replacement. I am finding ways to incorporate it into my workflow effectively. If you have an AI tool you like to incorporate into your content generation, I am happy to work with it. Sorry for the rant, but hopefully, I’ve answered your question.
