I guess the only businesses that wouldn’t want a blog are businesses that are trying to get rid of blogs… but even those business models can benefit from the organic growth and engagement consistent blogging has to offer. 😉
Seriously, I’ve heard a few people say that Blogs are archaic- outdated, ineffective… and it’s just not true.
I’ve worked with dozens and dozens of companies (of all sizes) who experience the benefit of well-crafted and consistent blogs every day. From organic traffic, to lead gen, to engagement, the list goes on and on…
There are so many reasons why you should have a consistent blog for your business site, but I’m going to narrow it down to my
TOP 5 REASONS WHY YOUR BUSINESS NEEDS A BLOG
I’d hate to see entrepreneurs neglect this powerful marketing tool because they think content is a dying medium.
I’m not saying it’s the best/only way to do things (the best marketing techniques are the ones that work best with your personal style)… but it’s definitely an important tool you should be using. Reason #1 is about to explain exactly why you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by adding a blog to your business site.
Reason Number 1 | Accessibility
I would say the first and most important reason that blogs are still a great business tool is their accessibility to everyone. You can write and publish blogs for free online, so no matter what size your business is, you get the benefits of organic growth without having to invest your $$$ right away.
There’s a TON of platforms to post blogs on for free, but I’ll even bet that whatever website platform builder you’re using will already have a blog posting option available to you!
Here’s a few other places you can post blogs for free:
So if you’re looking for an effective marketing option that has a huge impact, blogging is a great idea… and I won’t even get started on the potential passive-income potential that blogs can create.
Reason Number 2 | Establishing Your Expertise
Establishing your expertise within your industry is a major factor in successfully connecting and selling to your customers. You can establish your expertise with multiple mediums, but if you’re like me, and don’t like or want to invest the $$ into video equipment or a podcast (yet), blogs do it wonderfully.
You can tailor your blogs to fit your brand voice and offer valuable information or entertainment that builds lasting relationships with the customers you want to connect with most.
Reason 3 | Organic Growth
Sharing and optimizing blogs is a big part of your online growth. Learning SEO can be a bit tricky at first, but with a little practice and some well-crafted Pinterest Cover Images (I like to use Canva to create my Pinterest and Social Media images), you can draw traffic to your website while you sleep.
And since SEO and optimization is all about targeting your ideal audience, you know the folks who are checking out your blog are interested in what your brand has to offer.
Reason 4 | Fast Turnaround Time
Okay, so for those of you who may not enjoy writing as much as I do, blogging can feel really intimidating and time-consuming.
However, if you set time aside once a month to come up with topics (you can find topic inspiration on Pinterest related to your specific industry easily), you can hammer out a month’s worth of blogs in a day or two, leaving you free to focus on other things.
And the more often you blog, the faster you’ll get.

Reason 5 | You Can Get Someone Else To Do It FOR YOU
Hiring someone to write your blogs is an easy option that ensures your business is always sharing the best content on a consistent basis (consistency is VERY IMPORTANT with blogs).
Working with a writer means that your brand voice is consistent, your blog content looks and reads effectively, and it’s one less thing on your to-do list to worry about.
Blogs Aren’t Dead
Now, I’m not saying that there aren’t a plethora of awesome marketing options aside from blogging. There are, and you should definitely use them too… but I challenge you to visit even the largest company website and not find a regularly updated blog. They’re just awesome, and there’s no reason NOT to include one in your marketing strategy.
You don’t have to choose one over the other, but blogging is a super accessible marketing tool to help jumpstart your business growth, and it’s entirely tailored to your brand and your audience.
They’re incredibly effective at building relationships with customers, so no matter how big or small your business is at this point, you’ll definitely benefit from a blog.
