Blogs are very important for growing your business. No doubt you’ve heard this, but maybe you find blog writing intimidating or even boring (I honestly can’t relate lol). Maybe you’ve tried writing a blog, but it didn’t have the results you hoped for…
You’re not alone, and writing blogs for your business is not easy (I’ve been doing it professionally for 7 years and it’s STILL not ‘easy’), but just because something isn’t easy doesn’t mean that it isn’t possible.
And it’s worth the effort or investment to create and maintain a blog on your business website. They’re an incredible tool that grows your business while you sleep, and attracts ideal clients and customers to you.

Create Consistent Content
The main job of a blog is to establish your expertise in the industry your business falls under. Whether you’re a service provider or selling your own products, you need to make sure your blogs are targeting the people you want to buy from you.
Blogs are currency. They’re information and insight that you’re giving away to your readers in good faith. This builds trust and helps people connect with you because you’ve shown that you care about their needs enough to try and help.
This means people will be more likely to come to you in the future when they’re looking for a service or product like yours. They know they can trust you, and that you’re not a faceless corporate machine.
Start Out Small
Blogs entail a lot of strategy- even the number of words you use plays a part in the efficacy of your blog posts. Blogs can range from 500 to 4000+ words, and that can be insanely intimidating… and time-consuming.
So if you want to dip your toe into writing your own business blogs, start out with 500-word posts. Don’t worry about them being perfect, you’ll get better and better the more you write and learn about your audience, the most important thing is consistency.
Stay Consistent With Your Posting Schedule
This is going to be the hard part, but the most important part of a business blog is posting consistently. You should never go more than 1 week without posting a blog. If you decide to post super long-form content, like 3000-4000 words, you could stretch that, but you HAVE to be consistent with your scheduling.
To help make it easier in case you find yourself zapped for inspiration one week: create or search for content lists relevant to your audience. There are tons of blog prompts to help inspire you. Pick one day a week or month and write out your blogs ahead of time. Not only will this eliminate the chance you’ll forget to post, but it lets you step away from your work and reread it later if you need to edit.
